LINCOLN – Priscilla M. Wight, 77, passed away Jan. 12, 2009, at her home. She was born June 20, 1931, in Lincoln, the daughter of Seldon and Helen (Smith) Farrington. Priscilla was a longtime member of Lincoln Congregational Church, where she had served as a trustee. She joined the church in 1947 at age 16 and joined the Pilgrim Daughters in the early 1950s, serving as president in 1956. She was active in local politics and was a member of the Lincoln Town Council from 1995 to 1998. Priscilla had a successful career in retail management throughout her life, working for King’s department stores, Ames and Wal-Mart, among others. Priscilla grew up in Lincoln and began her career and family there, before moving to Newburgh for 16 years. As her career unfolded, she lived in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and traveled about the southern and eastern states opening stores and training personnel. Priscilla enjoyed travel and made many lifelong friends during her journeys. She loved to play cards with her friends, share home baked treats, knit for her grandchildren, and she tackled the crossword puzzle every day with varying degrees of success. More than anything else, Priscilla will be remembered as a loyal and generous friend to all who knew her. Priscilla is survived by her daughter, Paulette Rader of Liverpool, N.Y.; her brother, Phillip Farrington and his wife, Jane, of Chester and Kenai, Alaska; grandchildren, Silas and Caleb Rader, of Liverpool, N.Y.; a niece, Virginia Holmes; a nephew, Stephen Farrington, and their families, all of Lincoln; and many cousins and friends.
