KATHLEEN, Fla. – Merrill George Doody Sr., 93, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, of natural causes. Born Feb. 25, 1915, in California Settlement, New Brunswick, he came here from Lewiston in 1986. He was a farmer and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Doody was predeceased by his son, Merrill G. Doody Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Doody of Kathleen, Fla.; sons, Sheldon Doody and his wife, Sandra, of Lewiston and Nelson Doody of York; daughters, Deanna Hardiman of Lakeland, Fla., Wanda White and her husband, Jesse, of Cape Coral, Fla., and Madelyn Doody of Lakeland, Fla.; sister, Nora Wilder of Presque Isle; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lanier Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lanier Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Socrum Cemetery.
