STETSON – Robert Michael Howland, 68, died unexpectedly Jan. 13, 2009. He was born June 6, 1940, in Springfield, Mass., a son of Edgar and Melba (Gahan) Howland. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from TransCom Trucking Co., moving to Maine in 1995. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Stetson; one son, Mark and wife, Tammie Howland, of Detroit; two daughters, Susan and husband, David Hanson, of Marlborough, Conn., and Nancy and husband, Baird Lashley, of Millville, Mass.; a stepson, Daniel and wife, Dutchie Mirolli, of Elliston, Va.; two stepdaughters, Susan and husband, Michael Clark, of Roanoke, Va., and Karen Mirolli of Herndon, Va.; a brother, Donald Howland of Stetson; two sisters, Patricia Hills of Westfield, Mass., and Lynda Hartmann of Santa Fe, Texas; and eight granddaughters. There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 U.S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074.
