MILLINOCKET – Daniel J. Budreau, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at a Millinocket hospital, after a short illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Millinocket, the son of Edward J. and Katherine (McQuarrie) Budreau. Daniel was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1941. He served as a flight officer in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Donald V. Henry Post No. 80 of the American Legion and Millinocket Lodge No. 1521, B.P.O.E. Daniel was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Millinocket, where he served as a vestryman. He retired from Bangor and Aroostook Railroad in 1984, after 32 years of service. Daniel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Budreau of Millinocket; a daughter, Danita Richbell and her husband, Norman, of Winterport; three brothers, Ronald Budreau and his wife, Donna, of Millinocket, Frank Budreau and his wife, Delphine, of Kennebunk, and Lawrence Budreau and his wife, Barbara, of Anderson, S.C.; a sister, Ann C. Hughes and her husband, Thomas, of Millinocket; a special aunt, Delia McQuarrie Hamilton of East Millinocket; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Proctor. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. William Jenkins and the supportive staff at Millinocket Regional Hospital for the personal care and concern extended to Daniel throughout the course of his illness. At Dan’s request, there will be no visiting hours. Private interment will be in the spring.
