STOCKTON SPRINGS – Irving H. Parsons, 85, husband of the late Nancy (Skofield) Parsons, died Jan. 15, 2009, at a Belfast health care facility. He was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Camden, the son of Arthur M. and Goldie (Leadbetter) Parsons. He attended Stockton Springs schools and served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II and the Korean War. He was in the warden service of the Maine Department of Marine Resources for 20 years, retiring in 1975. After his retirement, he became active in Stockton Springs town government, serving two years as town clerk and five years as treasurer. He was also employed as an agent for Portland Steamship Agency at the time of final retirement in 1993. He is survived by a daughter, Joanne Parsons of Belfast. There will be no funeral at this time. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Mount Recluse Cemetery, Cape Jellison. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bucksport.
