OLD TOWN – Eleanora Guptill Borja, 82, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, surrounded by her loving family in Bangor. She was born April 26, 1926, in Horicon, Wis., daughter of Herbert and Alice (Mieske) Guptill. Eleanora was predeceased by her husband, George Borja in 1993; four brothers, Raymond, Lester, James and Clarence Guptill; and a sister, June Miner. She is survived by four sons, Thomas Borja and his wife, Barbara, of Bangor, Ronald Borja and his wife, Paulette, of Alton, David Borja and his wife, Lori, of North Carolina and Kevin Borja and his wife, Tina, of Old Town; a stepdaughter, Iona Daigle and her husband, Lloyd “Skip,” of Winston, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Brian Borja and his wife, Mary, of South China, Peter Borja of Bangor, Michael and Rebecca Borja of Alton, Danielle and Brittney Borja of St. Albans and Dylan Borja of Old Town; two stepgrandchildren, Shawn Daigle and his wife, Alisa, of Connecticut, and Shirley Romantis and her husband, Mark, of Gorham; and five great-stepgrandchildren, Colette and Gianna Romantis of Gorham, Nicholas, Devyn and David Daigle of Connecticut. She was looking forward to the birth of her great-grandson, Brayden Ambrocio Borja. She is also survived by four brothers, Russell, Alvin, Ronald and Richard Guptill; and two sisters, Mildred Wackett and Donna Freber, all of Wisconsin. Friends may call 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a celebration of her life will be conducted 5 p.m. with Pastor Joyce Lovely, of Alton United Methodist Church, officiating. A time of continued fellowship and sharing of stories will be held after the service at Penobscot Terraces Community Room, 352 Main St., Old Town.
