GAYLAND S. COLE OLD TOWN – Gayland Samuel Cole, 40, passed away Jan. 16, 2009, at his home, due to complications from diabetes. He was born June 9, 1968, in Lincoln, the son of Thaxter and Gay (Dudley) Cole. He was a graduate of Penobscot Valley High School, Howland, and was also an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and repairing practically everything. He especially enjoyed being at camp on Cold Stream Pond and cruising in the boat. He will be dearly missed by his family, his many friends and his faithful pets, Rocky and Bullwinkle. He is survived by his parents, Gay and Norman Ewing of Lowell, and Thaxter and Mina Cole of Passadumkeag; his brother, Blaine and wife, Dina, of Veazie; his sister, Heather and husband, Greg, of Milford; his niece and nephew, Samantha and Mitchell Cole of Veazie; his stepbrothers, Norman Ewing II of Lincoln and Alton Huston of Passadumkeag; his stepsister, Pam Lindsay of West Enfield; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Leroy Landry officiating.
