SPRINGFIELD – Meldon Fred White, 66, died Jan. 22, 2009, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Feb. 11, 1942, in Freedom, the son of Milo and Muriel (Wellman) White. Meldon loved camping, Karaoke, Debbie Myers shows, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed working at Maxwell Farms and he made an impression on everyone who knew him. He is survived by three daughters, Susan White and Paul of Oakland, Sherry White and Clayton of Springfield and Bobbi-Jo White and Al of Sydney; six brothers and sisters, Roland White and Anita, Ruth Gregory, Leland White and Jane, Mildred Noble and Tom, Milo White Jr., and June Hanson and Dean; seven grandchildren, Alicia and Ashley White, Shayla McAlpine, Devin Glidden, Katelyn Glidden, Jessica Fullerton and Megan Fullerton; his wife, Janet White; stepson, Glen White and Beth; stepgrandson, Riley White; stepbrothers and stepsister, Neil Cole, Denzil Cole and Joyce, Sewall “Chip” Cole and Maxine, and Una Spencer and Mike; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, George White and Cecil White; and a sister, Wanda Young. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
