DENVER – Marshall Alton Carrier, 51, died unexpectedly Jan. 6, 2009, at his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1957, in Castine. Marshall grew up in Bucksport, graduating from Bucksport High School in 1974. Shortly after graduation, Marshall and two friends, Eddie Wayne Chevaree and Shobby Robert Boyce headed out across the country in an old beat up car. They took up residence in Denver, where Marshall met the love of his life, Kathy Brunton. They shared many wonderful years together, raising their son, Trent. Kathy and Marshall enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and skiing in the Rocky Mountains. They lived life to the fullest. Even though Marshall’s life was in Denver, he never lost touch with his friends and family here at home. Marshall was predeceased by his mother, Alberta Victoria Carrier Carney; and his father, Patrick Carrier Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Kathy (Brunton) Carrier; and his beloved son, Trent Carrier, both of Colorado; his stepfather, Robert Carney of Ellsworth; his brother, Kendal Dunbar and wife, Patti, of Bucksport; brother, Patrick Carrier of Otis; sister, Veronica Barry of Bangor; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Jeff Soper and his wife, Robin and their boys, Chris and Casey, and their families. There will be a memorial service for family and friends Jan. 17 in Colorado. A local graveside service with a celebration of Marshall’s life after will be held for family and friends in the spring. A date will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations to help with unexpected expenses may be made to Kathy Carrier, 7980 Zenobia St., Westminster, CO 80003.
