OLD TOWN – Edmond “Ed” “Boobie” Doucette, 69, passed away Jan. 24, 2009, at a health care facility in Orono. He was born Nov. 29, 1939, the son of Telesphore and Eva (Guerrette) Doucette. Ed was a handyman by trade and was happy fixing things whenever possible. Ed enjoyed many things in life, especially camping, spending time at the coast, gospel hymns and “happy” music in general, making canvas dolls and wood burning. Ed is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Charlotte (Adams) Doucette; his two children, Terry and Shelly; his nephews, Franklin Jr., Richard, Michael, Stephen and Douglas, who he raised as his own; his grandson, Jeremy, who he took care of since birth; his three stepchildren, Barbara, James and Sally; four more grand-children, Ruben, Bryan, Nycole and Kasey; four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan, Kylee and Marshall; and his 12 siblings, Cliff, Franklin Sr., Clarence, Raymond, Freda, Irene, Edna, Milly, Norman, Francis, Jeannette and Harold. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were all very close to his heart. Ed will be missed by all, including his close friends, Naomi and Donald Allen and Bobby Lammarre, along with many other neighbors and friends. Ed was predeceased by his parents. A visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a memorial service will be held 5 p.m. For those that would like to remember Ed in a special way, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
