ELLSWORTH – Wendell T. Bradford, 79, died Jan. 26, 2009, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Ellsworth, the son of Clarence and Doris (Tibbetts) Bradford. Wendell attended schools in Ellsworth. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Harold MacQuinn for 50 years and enjoyed lobster fishing out of Northeast Harbor for many years. Wendell was a member of Lygonia Masonic Lodge No. 40 AF & AM of Ellsworth. He is survived by his wife, Arlene (Moore) Bradford; daughters, Lynda C. Hamblen and Laura L. Bradford; sons, Clifton E. and Dwayne A. Bradford, all of Ellsworth; a stepson, Lindsey O. Bradford of Dedham; grandchildren, Michael and Derek Bradford; and stepgrandson, Scott Bradford. He was predeceased by a brother, Clifton Bradford. Calling hours will be held 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30.
