As Bangor readies to celebrate its 175th anniversary as a city, the future of the Paul
Bunyan statue is again a topic of discussion. Should Paul be moved to the city’s
waterfront? Or should he remain in Bass Park, and be included in plans for a new
auditorium? Or is it time for him to retire somewhere in the North Woods, where he can
build himself a little cabin (maybe on Plum Creek land)?
