BLUE HILL – Arthur Leroy “Roy” Candage, 94, died Feb. 1, 2009, at a Deer Isle health care facility. He was born July 6, 1914, in Blue Hill, the son of Arthur C. and M. Annie (Black) Candage. Roy was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed as an electrician for many years. He enjoyed gardening, reading and astronomy. Roy was a former member of Odd Fellows and East Blue Hill Grange. He is survived by four nephews, Arthur Candage and wife, Betty, of Groveland, Mass., Bruce Candage and wife, Rena, Darryl Candage and wife, Muriel, both of East Blue Hill and Donald Carter of Blue Hill; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Colby and Ralph “Peck”; and sister, Ethel Carter. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Jordan-Fernald, 141 South St., Blue Hill.
