ENFIELD – Hattie Laura (Faloon) Laing, 95, wife of the late Carl Laing, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 31, 2009, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Howland, the daughter of Ethel (Darling) and Daniel Faloon. She graduated from Howland High School and worked for the Internal Revenue Service, Jacksonville, Fla. She married her high school sweetheart, Carl Roscoe Laing, Sept. 8, 1934, and they were married for 71 years. Hattie was a member of Howland Baptist Church her entire life. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, helped start Enfield Elders and was a member of Ammadamast Grange. She is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews; and her cat, Babe, whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Fay Faloon; and her sister, Helene (Faloon) Littlefield. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Alan Porter officiating.
