EASTPORT – Sheldon James Keezer Sr., 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, Feb. 2, 2009. Sheldon was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Eastport, son of the late Benjamin and Clytie (Featherson) Keezer. He worked as a truck driver for Dead River Co. Sheldon was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He married Anna L. Taylor, April 3, 1948, in Eastport. In addition to his parents, Sheldon was predeceased by his loving wife, Anna Keezer; his sister, Laura Kierstead; and three brothers, Chester, Lawrence and Benjamin Keezer. Surviving are his three children, Gloria Gray and her husband, Larry, of Alexandria, Va., Carol Daggett and her husband, Terence, of Pembroke, and Sheldon Keezer Jr. and his wife, Judith, of Eastport; a sister, Barbara Pottle and her husband, Louis, of Eastport; a brother, Franklin Keezer of New Hampshire; seven grandchildren, Larry, Anthony, Deborah, Karen, Scott, Jonathan and David; an aunt, Louella Wilson of Eastport; many nieces, nephews and friends. Sheldon will be laid to rest beside his loving wife in the spring at Bayside Cemetery, Eastport. Donations in Sheldon’s memory may be made to Down East Hospice, 24 Hospital Lane, Calais, ME 04619.
