LEWISTON and FORT KENT – Delia (Blais) Duperry, 89, died Feb. 4, 2009, at a Lewiston health care facility. She was born June 11, 1919, in Connors, New Brunswick, the daughter of Jimmy and Sarah (Jandreau) Oakes. Delia was a past member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 9609 of Fort Kent. One of her favorite pastimes, which she enjoyed deeply, was dancing Friday and Saturday nights at the VFW in Fort Kent. She is survived by two sons, Dalton Blais and his wife, Marilyn, of Dover-Foxcroft, and Gary Blais and his wife, Berdina, of Manchester, N.H.; four grandchildren, April and her husband, Jeremy Hinton and their children, Jack and Julia, all of Essex, Vt., Linda Falconie and her five children, all of Norwalk, Conn., Patrick Blais of Dover-Foxcroft, and Pamela Sutula and her two children, all of West Hartford, Conn.; and one sister, Adrienne Dominique of St. Francois, New Brunswick. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Patrick Blais, in 1961; by her second husband, Chester Duperry, in 1981; four brothers, Albenie Oakes, Henry Oakes, Leo Oakes and Rene Oakes; and four sisters, Evelyn Cyr, Marie Jeanne Soucy, Annette Milliard and Yvette Oakes. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be May 12 at St. John Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
