TROY and OCALA, Fla. – Lorraine “Magoo” B. McGowan, 76, died peacefully Feb. 7, 2009, surrounded by family at Ocala Regional Medical Center. She was born April 17, 1932, in Waterville, a daughter of the late Hippolyte and Alice Talbot. Lorraine enjoyed camping on the coast of Maine, spending time with her family and friends, and beginning and ending each day with her Lord. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Clive of Troy; son, John and his wife, Karen, of Sidney; daughter, Deborra and her husband, Howard, of Pittsfield; son, David and his wife, Shelley, of Sidney; daughter, Rebecca and her husband, Gary, of Troy; brother, Richard of Winslow; granddaughter, Heidi and her husband, Justin, of Braintree, Mass.; granddaughter, Amanda of Manchester, N.H.; granddaughter, Stephanie of Quincy, Mass.; grandson, Philip of Boston; granddaughter, Hannah of Standish; and great-granddaughter, Isalina of Braintree, Mass. She was predeceased by her sister, Bernice Crocker of Lexington, Mass. At Lorraine’s request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Rogers Cemetery, Troy.
