JAMES ‘TEEHAR’ RITCHIE EASTPORT – James E. “Teehar” Ritchie, 77, died Feb. 6, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. James was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Eastport. James served in the Army for eight years. He was in the Korean War. He enjoyed going hunting and playing cards. James was retired from the Guilford mill in Eastport. James was predeceased by his parents, James and Augusta Ritchie; his sister, Elaine Town-send; his son, Wayne Ritchie; his granddaughter, Shannon Rose Matthews; and daughter-in-law, Jelaine Ritchie. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Betty Ritchie; and his five children, Robert Ritchie, James Ritchie, Shirley LaCoute and her husband, Tony, Nancy Dewitt and her husband, David, and Vicki Matthews and her husband, Chuck. James had 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. There will be graveside services in the spring.
