LUBEC – Ronald B. Tinker Sr., 70, formerly of Belmont, Mass., died unexpectedly Feb. 11, 2009. He was born May 5, 1938, son of Mabee S. and Adelia (Ogilivie) Tinker. He served his county as a veteran of the U.S. Army. He later went on to work for the Belmont, Mass., Water Department. After retiring from Belmont Water Department he then returned to Lubec, where he spent his time with family and friends, and spent his time doing things he enjoyed most: hunting, fishing and ice fishing. If you ever needed to find some mackerel, he was the guy to ask. He is survived by his children, Kathleen Michel of Brockton, Mass., Brenda Donovan of Shrewsbury, Mass., William Tinker of Southbridge, Mass., Ronald Tinker Jr. of Lubec, James Tinker of Chelmsford, Mass., and Mary Tinker of Bangor; two sisters, Anna Marzoll of Lubec and Barbara Case of Brighton, Mass.; and two brothers, Robert Tinker and Errol “Bunky” Tinker, both of Lubec. He was the beloved “Papa” to Matthew Farrell, Patrick Michel, Lindsay, Brian, Kylie and Caitlyn Donovan, Julia and Sinead Tinker, Kelsey and Caroline Tinker, Desiree and Jesse Wormell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by former spouse, Mary E. Tinker; and two brothers, Kenneth and Sanford Tinker. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Christian Temple Church, Lubec, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, with Pastor Gary Look officiating.
