LINCOLN – Prince R. Burrill, 90, husband of the late Joan (Beaulieu) Burrill, passed away Feb. 11, 2009, at a Lincoln health care facility. He was born March 29, 1918, in Lincoln, the son of Stephen and Bernice (Fogg) Burrill. Prince served in the Aleutian Campaign during World War II. Upon returning to the U.S., he worked on a medical train, transporting wounded troops to homes or hospitals. After his military service, he worked as a welder in New Jersey for about 15 years. He operated Burrill’s Restaurant, Unity, for about five years. After he retired, he sawed and split stove wood for a little extra income. He is survived by a son, Richard and his wife, Barbara Burrill, of Des Moines, Iowa; two grandchildren, Richard Jr. and Laura Burrill, and Crystal Burrill; as well as numerous great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter, Floyd and Carlton Burrill; two sisters, Evelyn (Burrill) Shurtleff and Adria (Burrill) Wight; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Joan, he was predeceased by nine siblings, Albert, Byron, Vincent, Dale, Calvin and David Burrill, Beulah (Burrill) Burridge, Pearl (Burrill) Owens and Vera Burrill. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Terry Upcott officiating. Spring interment will be at Walnut Hills Cemetery, North Yarmouth.
