GLENBURN – Alvin D. Parsons, 49, passed away Feb. 12, 2009, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born May 18, 1959, in Bangor, son of Melvin and Helen (Rowell) Parsons. Alvin was a 1978 graduate of Hermon High School. He worked for the state of Maine for 25 years at the Air National Guard base, Bangor, and was a member of Ohio Street Grange, Glenburn Volunteer Fire Department and Glenburn Community Club. He also enjoyed fishing, bingo and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Alvin is survived by his wife, Sandy Wood of Glenburn; sons, Dwayne of Amherst and Jonathan Singleton of Glenburn; daughters, Danielle Lane of Bangor and Courtnie Wood of Brewer; grandchildren, Danyon and Iceys; stepgrandson, Skylar; brothers, David and Ann of Hudson and Don and Renee of Johns Island, S.C.; and sister, Angela and Richard Mishou of Milford. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Ohio Street Grange Hall, Bangor, with Pastor Wilbur officiating. A reception will be held afterward.
