ORLAND – Deanna Ellen (Nevells) Eaton, 62, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Deanna passed away to her heavenly home Feb. 12, 2009, with her beloved husband, Alan, at her side, at her home. She was born Oct. 3, 1945, in Stonington, daughter of Barbara R. (Hutchinson) and Shirley L. Nevells. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Alan Scott Eaton Sr.; her sons, Alan S. Jr. and Ruth Ann, Anthony Stinson and Katie, and Aaron Stinson and Gail; her daughter, Rebecca R. Eaton; two sisters, Nola Donavan and Gerald J. of Deer Isle and Deborah Peabody and Charlie; brother, Howard Nevells and Janet, all of Stonington; her aunt and uncle, Letha and Henry Bray of Stonington; sister-in-law, Marcia Lawless and friend, Norman Carey, and Connie Wood and Ed, all of Bucksport, Anna Snow and Berry of Blue Hill; brothers-in-law, Forrest Nevells and Margie of Stonington, Chandler Eaton and Mary of Deer Isle and Howard Eaton of Bangor; several grandchildren, Toya and Elena Eaton, Despe Dodge, Matthew and Abigail Stinson, Amanda, Gabriel, Cheyenne Stinson and Isaac Grindle, who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special best friends, Marilyn and Gene Hurd. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Dee was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Mildred Beckman, Judith Haskell, and Ethelyn (Tina Marie) Stinson; brother, Thomas Nevells; niece, JoAnn Marie Donavan; and great-nephews, Jacob Young and Jeffrey Tolman; and nephews, Erwyn Eaton and Todd Eaton. We give a special thanks to CancerCare of Maine, Dr. Eric Hartz and his staff for their wonderful care; to Dr. Lloyd Harmon for his expertise and wonderful care in the beginning when she first had cancer, and last but not least are the wonderful ladies at hospice, including Mary Ellen and Connie. Thank you so much for the tender loving care you gave Deanna in her final days. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Franklin Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. A gathering will be held after the service at the church. There will also be a memorial service 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Church of the Nazarene, Sunset Avenue, Stonington, with the Rev. John Hawkins officiating. A gathering will be after the service at the church. Spring interment will be at Forest Cemetery, Stonington.
