VEAZIE – Grace Evelyn (Murphy) Cust, 95, wife of the late Ralph Joseph Cust, died Feb. 13, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Jan. 28, 1914, in Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, the daughter of Cornelius and Cora (Dewely) Murphy. Grace and her husband lived most of their adult lives in Veazie. She was an intelligent, well read woman who thrived on learning about the world and the people who reside in it. She cared greatly for others, spending time both nurturing and nursing family and friends. She was a positive, upbeat, forward thinking individual who enjoyed everyday as a blessing. Grace is survived by two children, Sandra L. Fowler and Stephen M. Cust; two granddaughters, Pamela Wells and Robin Fowler, and their spouses, Bryan Wells and Corry Pratt. Her family will truly remember her as “Amazing Grace.” Funeral services will be held noon Monday, Feb. 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately after the service.
