BANGOR – Charles W. Dauphinee, 85, husband of the late Juanita (Pennette) Dauphinee, died Feb. 13, 2009, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Bangor, son of Gordon and Anne (Bohan) Dauphinee. He retired from the city of Bangor after working for 20 years at Bangor International Airport. He also worked at Husson College for many years and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. Charlie was a hard worker and had a great love for the outdoors, where he enjoyed landscaping, painting and helping family, friends and neighbors. He greatly enjoyed his camp, with his family, at Pleasant River Lake, camping with family and friends at Parks Pond and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends for many years. Charlie also served in the Maine Army National Guard, Bangor. He is survived by his four daughters and their husbands, Francine and Lloyd Pease of Frankfort, Valerie and Rene Morneault of Bangor, Bonita and Michael Russell of Alton and Lisa and William Monroe of Bangor; 12 grandchildren, Doreen and her husband, Timothy Kenney, Christopher Pease and his wife, Donna, Brian Pease and his wife, Dawn, Nichole Dauphinee and her partner, Donald William, Steven, Jordan and Adam Dauphinee, Michael, Charlie and Thomas Russell, Zackery and Alisha Monroe; 10 great-grandchildren, Timothy, Katelynn, Melissa, Britney, Logan, Adam, Alexander, Natasha, Donnie and Jessie James; one great-great-grandchild, Ashton; and a special nephew, Carlton Daniel Hammond. In addition to his parents and his wife of 60 years, he was predeceased by two sons, Carl and Anthony Dauphinee; and nine brothers and sisters, infant Lucille, Reginald, James, Dorothy, Raymond, Henry, Thomas, Kenneth and Robert. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor. Interment will be after at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
