CARROLL – James W. Cleve-land, 90, husband of 28 years to Lottie (McLaughlin) Cleveland, died Feb. 16, 2009, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born June 16, 1918, in Barre, Mass., the son of John and Nettie (Purvis) Cleveland. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. In addition to his wife, Lottie, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Dixon and Velma Melvin; two stepdaughters, Cathy Kecki and Brenda McLean; a stepson, Cliff Severance; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and one grandchild. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Stevens Cemetery, Carroll.
