CAMDEN – Muriel “Dolly” Eileen Deane, 86, died Feb. 18, 2009, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center. Born May 12, 1922, in Tidsville, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of Clinton P. and Edna (Frost) Dakin. The family moved to Searsport when Dolly was 2 years old. She grew up in Searsport, attended schools there and worked at Whitcomb’s Cafe, Belfast. She married Earl H. Deane, Nov. 27, 1947, in Winterport, and moved to Camden in 1948. Surviving is her husband, Earl H. Deane of Camden; two daughters, Earlene Deane Corey and her husband, Steve, of Swanville, and Donna Deane Doherty and her husband, Ron, of Camden; four sons, Jerry Deane of Marlborough, Mass., William Deane and his wife, Carol, of Hope, David Deane and his wife, Karyn, of Warren, and Randy Deane and his wife, Bonnie, of Appleton; one brother, Beverly Dakin and his wife, Donna, of Searsport; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Willard Dakin, Emery Dakin, and Erling Dakin; and a sister, Vivian Volpe. Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 164 Cobb Road, Camden.
