GREENVILLE – Paul F. Tibbetts, 68, died Feb. 24, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 24, 1940, in Bangor, the son of Harold C. and Hazel A. (Goodspeed) Tibbetts. Paul graduated from Hermon High School and went on to become an accomplished, self-employed carpenter and builder until his retirement in 2007. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish and acquired his Maine Guide’s license while living on Moosehead Lake. He enjoyed activities on the lake through all seasons, but enjoyed winter especially with the opportunity to go snowmobiling. When warmer weather permitted, he would enjoy long rides on his Harley-Davidson or could be found fishing in his boat on Moosehead remaining active and living his life his way. Paul is survived by his children, Jailene Fontaine and her husband, Mark, of Lyman, Tarma Girard of Jacksonville, Fla., Dustin Tibbetts of St. Augustine, Fla., and Reahna Tibbetts of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, all of whom live in Florida; three brothers, Earl Tibbetts of Dexter, Ralph Tibbetts of Fallbrook, Calif., and Roscoe Tibbetts of Palmetto, Fla.; and two sisters, Arlene Lord of Scarborough and Flora Lord of Hermon. A service of remembrance will be held in June on Moosehead Lake. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
