BUCKSPORT – Nina J. Bowden, 76, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Danforth, the daughter of Ollie W. and Lucinda F. (Kinney) Walsh. Nina loved Beano, playing cards, reading, sewing, knitting and crafts. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Walsh of Bucksport; a son, Paul A. Bowden of Orland; as well as her beloved granddaughters. She is also survived by brothers, and sisters, Earl Walsh and Richard Walsh, both of Florida, Nancy Drake of Hermon, Ruth Cole of Bangor, Maurice Kinney of Howland and Charles Hanson of Vermont. Nina was predeceased by a son, Scott L. Bowden; her parents; her wonderful stepfather, Whitney Hanson; sister, Eleanor Cross; and brother, Dennis Walsh. Family and friends will gather for visitation 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. Pastor Peter Remick will officiate. Interment will be in the spring at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nina’s memory may be made to Buck Memorial Library, P.O. Box DD, Bucksport, ME 04416.
