MARS HILL – Otis I. Antworth, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior, March 1, 2009. He was born June 15, 1931, in Blaine, the son of Melburne and Mapley (Lunn) Antworth. He attended Church of Jesus, Presque Isle. Otis owned and operated Mountain View Construction, that later became Antworth and Son Construction for many years. He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending winters in Florida. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Lovely) Antworth of Mars Hill; three sons, Gerald F. Antworth of Mars Hill, Danney M. Antworth of Terriville, Conn., and Rickey I. Antworth of Presque Isle; one daughter, Roxanna J. Albert of Mars Hill; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, six stepchildren and 14 stepgrandchildren. He also leaves behind two brothers, Merle Antworth of Westfield and Herbert Antworth of Mars Hill; three sisters, Mapley Lindsay of Unity, Donna Kenney of Presque Isle and Marita Shaw of Bridgewater; a half brother, Wilfred Ouellette of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two wives, Phyllis and Laura Antworth; a brother, Garfield; and sisters, Annie, Gladys and Laurice. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Apostolic Pentecostal Church, Mars Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Victor Hartley and the Rev. Earl Durost officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at King’s Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill.
