MEDWAY – Clara Brown, 93, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at Care Ridge Estates, Lee, her home for the past several years. She was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Millinocket, the daughter of Benjamin and Pearle (McKenny) Thorpe. Clara enjoyed spending as much as time as possible at camp, snowshoeing in the winter and fishing whenever she could. She prided herself on her abilities and teamwork in helping build her home and camp. Clara will especially be remembered for her considerable talents as a nurturing caregiver to her family members, especially her parents and each of her husbands. She is survived by children, David Noyes and his wife, Marie, of San Jose, Calif., Ben Noyes and his wife, Nancy, of Gray, Claudia Noyes and Pete Stitham of Mattawamkeag, Gary Brown and his wife, Chris, of Framingham, Mass., and Dottie Brown of Chelmsford, Mass.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Clara was predeceased by two husbands, George B. Noyes Jr. and Randolph A. Brown; a son, George B. Noyes III; and a grandson, George B. “Butchy” Noyes IV. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket.
