FAIRFIELD – Marsha Taber went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 2, 2009. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Marsha was born July 7, 1916, at California Settlement, New Brunswick, the daughter of John and Maria (Hamilton) Doody. The family moved to Coffin’s Corner, Washburn, in 1929. On Oct. 22, 1933, she married Wallace A. Taber and they shared 63 great years. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed reading biographies, crocheting, and babysitting the grandkids and great-grandkids. Marsha was a member of Fairfield Nazarene Church from 1942 to 1952, and then became a member of Calvary Church of God, Oakland, where she taught Sunday school. Her calling in life was to assist the older ladies of the church who could not drive. She faithfully drove them to church and out for Sunday dinner. Most recently Marsha attended Riverside Assembly, Fairfield. She was always praying for her family and friends, and was always faithful to her Lord. Marsha is survived by her daughter, Elaine Washburn, with whom she had been living since the death of her husband in January 1997; one brother, Herman Doody of Washburn; a sister, Louise Peterson of Monticello; and four grandchildren, Kathy Day and her husband, Larry, of Fairfield, Lori Libby of Scarborough, Scott Washburn and his wife, Gail, of Clinton and John Washburn and his wife, Kimberly, of Memphis, Tenn. She is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren, Melissa Warren, Emily Day, Michael Day, Eric Libby, Nicole Axelsen, Joshua Washburn, Lacey Washburn, Andrew Washburn, Austin Washburn and Adam Washburn; as well as two great-great-grandchildren, Zo Warren and Jacob Libby; along with many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Assembly Church, Fairfield. Spring burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Riverside Assembly Building Fund, 32 Water St., Fairfield, ME 04937 or Pine Tree Camp for Crippled Children, P.O. Box 518, Bath, ME 04530.
