FORT KENT – Kenneth Deschaine, 71, died March 3, 2009, in Fort Kent. He was born Dec. 29, 1937, in Frenchville, the son of Albert and Leah (Caron) Deschaine. Ken enjoyed hunting and especially working with his sons. He is survived by his two sons, Wayne and his life companion, Darlene Lagasse, both of Fort Kent, Dana and his wife, Tania Deschaine, of Fort Kent; his stepmother, Cora Caron of Fort Kent; two granddaughters, Nicole and Bonnie Deschaine of Connecticut; two grandsons, Evan and Drew Deschaine of Fort Kent; two great-granddaughters, Evelyn and Avery Deschaine; one sister, Jackie Williams of Mims, Fla.; and one brother, Roland Deschaine of Bloomberg, Pa. He is also survived by his companion, Charlene Pinette of Wallagrass; several nieces and nephews. In addition to both parents, he was predeceased by his wife, JoAnne (Long) Deschaine in 2000. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Duane Stiles officiating. Spring burial will be at St. Louis Cemetery.
