BANGOR – Robert E. Rose, passed away peacefully March 3, 2009, with his family by his side. He was born Sept. 1, 1954, in Geneva, N.Y. Robert attended and graduated from Deland High School in Florida, where he participated in ROTC and the Civil Air Patrol. He moved to Maine in 1979 and was active in Penobscot Valley Industries-Ralph Leek Elders Program for many years, where he enjoyed a wide variety of activities, especially horseback riding and the Special Olympics. He lived life to its fullest and loved children, animals, sports and fishing, and spending time with his family and many, many friends, some of whom were very special to him, like his fianc?e, “BJ,” whom he called his beloved; and his outstanding friend and advocate, Edna Taber. He is survived by his mother, three sisters, two brothers, numerous nieces and nephews. At the family’s request, services will be private.
