BREWER – Virginia “Ginny” Hershall, 81, passed away March 4, 2009, at her home after a long illness. She was born Sept. 24, 1927, in Auburn, the daughter of Cleon and Devora (Penley) Fletcher. Ginny graduated from high school and attended Becker Jr. College for two years. Ginny and her beloved husband, Harry, who predeceased her in October of 2005, loved to travel and shop. She also had a great love for animals, especially her poodles that were her babies. She will be dearly missed by Shirley and Frank Holton and family from Norridgewock; and Linda and Earl Hickman of Unity and many other friends. Friends are invited to call 2-3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Brookings-Smith Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with a celebration of Ginny’s life service will be held at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, after the service. Interment will be in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Those who wish to remember Ginny in a special way may make gifts to a charity of choice.
