FORT KENT – Blandine (Michaud) Gagnon, 87, died peacefully March 5, 2009, at a Fort Kent heath care facility. She was born March 31, 1921, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Alphonse and Laura (Charette) Michaud. Blandine was a member of Fort Kent Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 9609. She was also very active in St. Louis Catholic Church as a choir member and as a Eucharistic minister to shut-ins of Fort Kent. Several of her favorite pastimes were singing, cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, poetry, painting, reading, ceramics, gardening and walking. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by five children, Alphonse “Dudly” and his wife, Pamela Gagnon, of Wallingford, Conn., Norma and her husband, Reginald Deschaine, of Fort Kent, Patricia and her husband, Frederick Thibodeau, of Chugiak, Alaska, Laura Marie and her husband, Malcolm Stickford, of Fairland, Ind., and Frederick and his wife, Gayle Gagnon, of Mars Hill; nine grandchildren, Theresa and her husband, Ken Cyr, Regina Deschaine, Keven and his wife, Susan Gagnon, Tina and her husband, Rick Borreli, Todd Gagne, Frederick Jr. and his wife, Colette Thibodeau, Kristy and her husband, Troy Pharis, Chantal and her husband, Matt Pelletier, and Lee Gagnon; seven great-grandchildren, four great-stepgrandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Laurina Gagnon of Fort Kent, Cynthia Hylton of Connecticut, Tina Hansen of Florida and Therese and Patrick Pinette of Tennesse; one brother-in-law, Richard Gagnon of Utah; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Joseph Elmer Gagnon, she was predeceased by her son, Joseph Dennis Gagnon in Vietnam in 1970; and one granddaughter, Tonya Gagne, March 3, 2009. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be May 11 at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
