BRIDGEWATER – Charles H. Simonson, 77, passed away March 6, 2009, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Presque Isle, the son of Charles and Annie (Lawrence) Simonson. Charles was a lifelong resident of Bridgewater and graduated from Bridgewater Classical Academy. He worked the family farm for many years until his retirement. Charles was a member of Aroostook Masonic Lodge No. 197, Mars Hill, for more than 50 years, and served his community on the town council and Cemetery Association Committee. He enjoyed his times with friends for early morning coffee. Charles was always caring and devoted to his family. He will be missed tremendously by all of his loved ones, including his loving wife of 54 years, Betty (Kingsbury) Simonson; his daughter, Kristi Bradbury and her husband, Ward; his son, Mark Simonson and his wife, Cathy, all of Bridgewater; and two grandsons, Blake Bradbury of Bridgewater and Kyle Simonson of Portland. He was predeceased by his parents; and a very special grandson, Colby Simonson. The family gives a special thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at The Aroostook Medical Center, Special Care Unit. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton, with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. There will be no visitation. Spring interment will be at Smith Cemetery.
