WILLIAMSBURG, Va., and MILLINOCKET – Roy A. Pomeroy, 69, died March 10, 2009. He was born Feb. 22, 1940, son of Myron and Carolyn (Elkins) Pomeroy. Roy graduated from Maine Central Institute, Pittsfield, in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army. Fishing was his passion. He is survived by his wife, Alice Hertzler of Williamsburg, Va., his mother, Carolyn Preble of Corinth; children, Tamara Kroog, Melinda Crossman, Ronald and Sandy Pomeroy and Holly and Robert McEwen, all of Maine, and Jenny Lovell of Lagrange, N.C., 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Joy of New Hampshire, Mary Hopkins, Carol D’amboise, and Deanna Kneeland; and brother and best friend, David Pomeroy of Maine. He was predeceased by his father in 1988. A memorial service will be noon Saturday, May 2, at Charleston Pentecostal Church.
