GRANITE FALLS, N.C., and ORLAND – Adelbert Wyman Conary, 87, of Hickory, N.C., passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, North Carolina. He was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Orland, to the late Wyman F. Conary and Nellie E. Dunham. Mr. Conary was a retired U.S. Army veteran with 20 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, Robert and Ernest Conary; one sister, Doris Eastman; and in-laws, Dorothy and Sally Conary, and Clyde Eastman. Survivors include his daughter, Debra Yarbrough and her husband, Byron; a granddaughter, Blaire and grandson, Jamey, all of Hickory, N.C.; three brothers and their wives, Lyman and Jean, Raymond and Maple, and Kent and Donna, all of Orland; sister-in-law, Kathie Conary; nieces and nephews. Mr. Conary’s remains will be sent to his home place and family in Orland. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
