GREENSBORO, N.C. – Erma Barrey Anderson, 85, of 301 Victoria St., died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Wesley Long Hospital after several months of declining health. Born Aug. 21, 1923, in Blaine, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Barrey and Millicent Belyea Barrey, and was married 48 years to the late Wesley Daniel Anderson. She was survived by two sons, David Anderson and his wife, Carole, of Mason, Ohio, and Daniel Anderson and his wife, Joan, of Camp Hill, Pa.; two daughters, Ruth Anderson and her husband, Phillip Pratt, of Greensboro, N.C., and Andrea Anderson and her husband, Paul Murtha, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Cinda Bryant, Suzanne Taylor, David Anderson, Joelle McClure and Angela Pratt; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Nathan Barrey and Stephen Barrey; sisters, Clara Poole and Ruth Pert; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Diana Menendez; and a brother, Robert Barrey. The memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, March 16, at Memorial Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 617 Elm St., Greensboro, N.C., by the Rev. Frank Dew. The family will greet friends at Redhead Hall at First Presbyterian Church after the service.
