VENICE, Fla., and BREWER – Kenneth L. Eldridge, 78, passed away March 11, 2009, at his home, after a courageous battle with multiple health issues. He was born Sept. 9, 1930, in Brewer, the son of Winfield and Elizabeth Eldridge. He worked for many years for Fox and Ginn and Yellow Freight before retiring to Florida with his wife of 31 years, Pat Golden Eldridge. He was predeceased by his first wife, Frances Eldridge; a sister, Marlene Haskell Samies; a brother, Roland; and a daughter, Rose-Anne Blake. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Verna Eldridge of Veazie, Lynn MacGregor of Levant, Debbie Lenfest, and Karen Munster and husband, Dave, all of Venice, Fla.; sons, Kenny B. and wife, Amanda, of Rock Spring, Wyo., Mark and wife, Terri, of Brewer and Mike Sheppard and Julie Leason of Venice, Fla.; brother, Lawrence and wife, Joan, of Bangor; two sisters, Dee Byrum and husband, Chuck, of Bangor and Doris Ellis and husband, Harold, of Orland; 14 loving grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sharon Fuller of Veazie. A celebration of life will be held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at the home of Karen and Dave Munster in Venice, Fla. Commemorative donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Venice, Fla.
