BANGOR – Sharon Ann Burke, 48, left this world March 12, 2009, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born Jan. 31, 1961, to Robert Burke of Bangor and Shelby Nichols of Tallahassee, Fla. Sharon touched so many lives and loved so many, we hope to acknowledge you all. She loved program, The Bouchea Center, and all her teachers and friends. Her home at the Getchell Agency was her rock. Thank you to Rena and Wayne Getchell and the Getchell Agency; her best friend and roommate, Abby Spang; loving caregivers, Jackie Carr and Charity Levasseur; and all the many who touched her life. Many things in life gave Sharon joy, none more than her yarn, musicals, Disney movies and country music. She loved to socialize and could dance all night to Midnight Rose. Her laughter for life was boundless, her compassion for others endless. Here on Earth remain her loving mother, Shelby Nichols; her loving father, Robert “Bob” Burke and his wife, Carolyn; and her devoted sisters, Cathy Burke and love, Tom Bevis, Pam Burke and love, Kelly McCaffrey, and Dawn (Burke) Beswick and husband, Jeff. Aunt Sharon will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Amber Goff, Heather Mercer, Dylan Goff, Dakota Godfrey, Cameron and Gabriel Beswick, Cavan and Ronan McCaffrey. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Don “Pop-Pop” Nichols; Fluffer and Elvis. A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Kirk Winters, pastor of The Rock Church of Greater Bangor, officiating. After the service friends and relatives are invited to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
