NEWPORT – June R. Cayer, 85, died March 17, 2009, at her residence. She was born June 24, 1923, in Tupper Lake, N.Y., a daughter of Patrick and Carolyn (Leonard) Curran. She graduated from Newburyport High School, Newburyport, Mass. June is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Cayer Sr. of Newport; a son, “Rick” Cayer Jr. and wife, Lynda, of Palmyra; a daughter, Deborah Pereira and husband, Wayne, of Steep Falls; two brothers, Michael Curran and wife, Frances, of Newburyport, Mass., and Stephen Curran and wife, Sally, of South Carolina; two sisters, Patricia Messenger of Newburyport, Mass., and Barbara Braunstein and husband, Stan, of Sun City, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. There will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 U.S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
