CARMEL – Thomas M. Trainor, 55, died unexpectedly March 16, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1953, in Germany, the son of Peter J. and Delia A. (Abbott) Trainor Sr. He was a graduate of Hermon High School, Class of 1971. Tom joined the Maine Army National Guard that same year, serving from 1971 until his retirement in 1992. Tom attended Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, studying commercial carpentry. He was an avid reader, enjoyed hunting, fishing, movies and solitude. Surviving, in addition to his mother, Delia of Carmel, are two sisters, Sue and her husband, Mike Richardson, of Garland and Laura and her husband, Danny Ray, of Carmel; two brothers, Peter J. Trainor Jr. of Sanford, and John and his wife, Tina Trainor, of Glenburn; one niece and four nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Peter J. Trainor Sr. Private interment will be at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Gifts in memory of Tom may be sent to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
