WINTERPORT – Eunice M. Bishop, 73, who was born Jan. 22, 1936, daughter of Ruth Martin and John Reed, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior March 22, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She worked hard all of her life. She was a strong and independent woman. She loved to go shopping and to yard sales or just to go for rides for ice cream. She liked the simple things in life. She was very caring, giving and generous. She loved quilting, making afghans, baking and making the best donuts and pies. There was no one who could make biscuits better than Eunice. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur A. Bishop Jr.; son, Jeffrey A. Bishop; her parents; and her stepdad, Norman Martin. She is survived by her son, Stephen Bishop of Sarasota, Fla.; daughters, Christy Bishop Lockhart of Portland and Jeannie Achorn of Liberty; her cat, Smokey; grandchildren, Renee, Benjamin, Kendra, Nathanial, Stephenie and Eric; and three great-grandchildren, Liam, Riley and Issabella. There will be no funeral upon her wishes. There will be a graveside service at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
