BROOKTON – Thresa A. Walton died March 22, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Brookton, the daughter of Stephen and Eva (Hayman) Craig. She loved her birds and being around her family. She is survived by a son, William Walton Jr. of Brookton; a daughter, Verna Ripley and her husband, Arthur, of Topsfield; one grandson, her pride and joy, Brian Ripley and his girlfriend, Ashley Estabrook, of Topsfield; special nieces and nephews, Steve Craig and his wife, Jan, of Plainfield, Conn., Eva Lee of Passadumkeag, Patricia Wing of Mattawamkeag, Gerald Craig of Lincoln Center, Cheryl Craig of Mattawamkeag and Jeannie Lyons of Ellsworth; a special “granddaughter,” Jessie Cassidy and her daughter, Avva, of Calais; her best friend since grade school, Edith Jones; and her next door neighbors, Frances and Russell Grass. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Walton Sr.; and her siblings, Gladys, Viola, John and Woodrow. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ronald Libby officiating. Interment will be at the new Brookton Cemetery. After the interment there will be a gathering at Brookton Community Center.
