VIRGINIA – Dawn Grant Sarver took God’s hand Sunday, March 22, 2009, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Dawn was born March 2, 1963, in Springfield, Mass. Throughout her life, Dawn lived in Fairbanks, Alaska; Long Island and Horseheads, N.Y.; Spangdahlem Air Force Base, Germany; and finally in Richmond, Va., which she made her home. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1981, and completed her Master of Science in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dawn practiced as an acute care nurse practitioner and as a partner at Advanced Family Practice, Midlothian, Va. She was passionate and dedicated to her family, friends, pets and her profession. Her unique ability to care for and bring people together leaves an amazing legacy. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Hugh and Nan Nelson, and Leslie and Viola Rogerson, all of Hampden. Dawn is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Barry W. Sarver; an extraordinary daughter, Brittany Dawn Sarver; her parents, George E. and Barbara A. Grant; brothers, Douglas “Musky” Grant and his wife, Rhonda, and David M. Grant and his wife, Andrea; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William E. and Mary W. Sarver; sister-in-law, Cathy Sarver Martin and her husband, Jeff; nieces and nephews, Dean Grant, Denyse Southard, DeAngela Grant, Ryan Osterbind and Kaitlyn Grant; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A celebration of Dawn’s life will be held 3 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Colonial Heights Baptist Church, 17201 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Va., with the Rev. David L. Engleman officiating.
