VAN BUREN and CARIBOU – Clarence L. Nadeau Sr., 78, died peacefully March 28, 2009, with his loving family by his side at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 10, 1931, in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, the son of Theophile and Ida (Fournier) Nadeau. Clarence was employed as a patrol foreman and section leader for Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for many years. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Martin) Nadeau of Caribou; three sons, Clarence Nadeau Jr. and his wife, Joann, of Caribou, Wayne Nadeau and his wife, Lynne, of Drummond, New Brunswick and Glenn Nadeau and his wife, Tammy, of Caribou; one daughter, Debbie Nadeau and companion, Costas Karras, of Fryeburg; and six grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Jason, Jamie, Taylor and Evan Nadeau. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Geneva Nadeau and Claire (Ouellette) Stedt. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be at the parish cemetery later this spring.
