BETHEL, CROUSEVILLE, WASHBURN and FORT FAIRFIELD – Anna M. Rayne, 62, died April 5, 2009, after a brave fight against ALS. Her daughter, Rachel, was by her side as she passed away in the beautiful and peaceful Levine-Dickson Hospice House, Charlotte, N.C. Ms. Rayne was born Anna Marie Lizette (Savoie) Beaudry April 11, 1946, in St. Edward, New Brunswick, the only daughter of Joseph and Roseline (Savoie) Beaudry. She moved to Waltham, Mass., with her mother as a teen and worked at Brandeis University, where she would meet her future husband, John Rayne. She was a resident of Bethel, Crouseville, Washburn and Fort Fairfield for the majority of her adult life. Due to her illness, she moved to Charlotte, N.C., December 2008 to live with her daughter, Rachel. Ms. Rayne was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker until the early-1980s, when she went to work at McCain Foods, Washburn and Easton. She was an avid and skilled candlepin bowler, who found friendship in the many leagues she participated in during the years. Ms. Rayne also had a deep fondness for animals and often donated to local animal shelters. She was the mother of Christine Rayne Caprise of Gilbert, Ariz., and Rachel Rayne Grantham of Charlotte, N.C., both graduates of Washburn High School. She was the loving and devoted grandmother of Thomas and Annaliese Caprise of Gilbert, Ariz., and Acadia, Camden and Kaden Grantham, all of Charlotte, N.C. Ms. Rayne was predeceased by her parents; her former husband, John E. Rayne Jr.; and her longtime companion, Warren York. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date.
