SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Maine Medical Center is closing the state’s only in vitro fertilization center.
Hospital officials say the center was not attracting enough patients.
The Maine Center for Reproductive Health in South Portland is equipped to retrieve a woman’s eggs and implant embryos. Maine Med told WMTW the center was performing only half the number of procedures it was projected to handle.
