BANGOR, Maine — An Orrington motorcycle rider who allegedly led a state police trooper on a chase through Bangor and Glenburn that reached speeds of nearly 120 mph was released Friday after posting $1,000 cash bail.

Jeremy Lovley, 23, made his first appearance Thursday on charges of eluding a police officer, which is a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000; criminal speed for traveling 112 mph in a 25-mph zone; improper passing; and raising the front wheel of his motorcycle off the travelway on Wednesday night.

Lovley is scheduled to appear on June 26 in Penobscot County Superior Court for a status conference on the case unless he is indicted by the Penobscot County grand jury before that date. The grand jury is scheduled to convene on May 26.
